Brand Recognition: Judgmental Maps

Overview:  Judgmental Maps is one of those “overnight success stories” created from a simple idea, a little humor, and a sprinkle of sarcastic charm. The site showcases city maps submitted by users covered with their judgmental labels that only a real native could capture. The laughter and accuracy of the maps led the site to go viral, causing the website to gain thousands upon hundreds of thousands of fans in a short amount of time. The blog’s creator, Trent Gillaspie, is currently working on his first book to house even more of the “snarchitectural” maps submitted by the ever-growing community.

Intention: To work side-by-side with the blog’s creator, Trent, to establish strong brand characteristics for Judgmental Maps. Brand identity and voice is at the forefront of all social media posts, press, and interactions between fans and the blog. AG is expected to monitor the press interactions, content delivery via email and social media, and advertising campaigns in partnership with Trent and Judgmental Maps.

Outcome: Over the two years of this startup blog’s success, the number of fans continues to grow exponentially on social media outlets, the blog itself, and various buzz worthy sites like Reddit, Imgur, Tumblr, and Twitter. AG gives major kudos to founder, Trent, for keeping the Judgmental Maps audience engaged and ready for the next city after every post. We’re looking forward to continued work and growth leading up to the launch of the blog’s first book.
